During Diwali it is important to keep kids safe. The fumes and the sparkles emitted from firecrackers are harmful to health and can cause several health issues too. Every year, during Diwali there are more than 200 children who get themselves hurt, due to negligence while bursting firecrackers. Parents should look after their little ones and be around them constantly. By keeping a watchful eye over kids, parents can prevent the dangers that lie ahead during this festival of lights.

Parents should make sure that their tots are dressed comfortably in cotton clothing, they should be in comfortable footwear and most importantly they should avoid crowed areas where firecrackers are being lit.

Avoid Crowed Area - Not only children, but adults too should avoid bursting crackers in crowded areas. One should burn firecrackers only in open areas like grounds and fields.

Terrace Areas - Children should not be left alone to burst crackers. They should not visit a terrace region too, as rockets and flying crackers can scare them. If the family is bursting crackers on the terrace, make sure that the child is in eye's reach and close to a parent.

Watch Them Burn Crackers - Allow children to burn crackers, but also make sure that a parent is standing beside them. This will prevent protect the child and give a sense of security. If the child is small, a parent should hold their hand and help them burn the firecracker.
Avoid Loose Clothing - Children should avoid wearing loose clothing. Parents should dress their kids in cool fabrics like cotton. Wool and satin fabrics should be not be worn while bursting crackers during Diwali.

Good Footwear Is A Must - Parents should make their little ones wear comfortable footwear like runners or sandals. Avoid high heels or any footwear which makes them difficult to run.
Don't Provide Them With Many - This is one tip parents should keep in mind. Don't let your child carry too many firecrackers in their hand. This will only cause confusion and might put them in danger.
