Babysitting

Take a look at the babysitting basics and tips. Apart from making money (if you seriously taking up the profession), it will also help you make the baby comfortable without his mother.

Babysitting has certain rules to follow. Firstly, responsibility, child's safety and patience. A baby care taker (time being) should know the basics of first aid. He should make at least make a list of the numbers that will help during emergency such the family doctor's contact, the guardian mobile contact and the neighbourhood etc.

Make a list of the things that need to be followed on time such as the baby's food, diaper change and sleep timings. This will help you plan you time more efficiently. Also find out if the parents follow any special customs for the baby that you are not aware.

Do not disturb the baby by playing loud music or horror flicks, keep your TV volume low. You can also spend time with the baby and keep him engaged until parents are back. Puzzles and beaded activities will help him stay calm.

If you are to change the baby's diapers, first wipe the stools with a soft tissue and then use baby wipes (wet tissues) for 100% cleaning. The fragrant wipes will take care of the bad odour.

A baby powder can instantly dry the area and keep away infection. Wrap the new diaper by singing songs or rhymes if the baby makes a fuss.

Serve the food on time so that the baby feels drousy and may sleep off any moment. It is almost next to impossible to wake the baby and forcefully feed it.

Be a good babysitter and do not take this job too easily as there are a lot of risks associated to the profession, follow the rules strictly and enjoy being a temporary guardian.
