This is a true incident that happened on a flight (in Australia) where a woman's earphones exploded and it is something that most of us need to be aware of, as sometimes the results of earphone explosion can also lead to accidental death!

It is said that the woman was napping while listening to music on the flight and she suddenly heard a loud noise, after which she started feeling the burning sensation.

She Woke Up When She Heard An Explosion!

She said, "I continued to feel burning, so I grabbed them off and threw them on the floor and they were sparking and had small amounts of fire." She also added, "As I went to stamp my foot on them the flight attendants were already there with a bucket of water to pour on them."

Battery Caused The Incident!

It is said that the battery caused the incident. Passengers of the flight endured the smell of melted plastic, burnt electronics and burnt hair. Some of them were feeling pukish due to the smell!

Rules That Need To Be Followed

There are certain rules that need to be followed when a person uses battery operated earphones. The batteries should be kept in an approved storage and the spare batteries must be carried separately in another bag.
