It will be the mellifluous melodies, breathtaking dance performances, tinkling jingles, alleviating artistic talents and eye-popping art displays, that engage the forth coming ten days of Bangalore, the software hub and Silicon valley of India, as Bangalore Habba, the greatest art festival of India is all set to hit the city. The name Bangalore Habba is inspiring as 'Habba' is not just an event of art performances but a true celebration of art lovers from around the globe. The word 'Habba' means Festival. Yes... Bangalore is in a festival mood as every nook and cranny of the city will witness par excellent performances by over 3000 renowned artists along with kids from 25 schools in Karnataka.
Unveiling the Habba 2007 logo Mr. Vittala Murthy, secretary of Karnataka information, tourism and culture, told that Habba showcases the cultural diversity of Bangalore and the essence of Habba is to emphasis the importance of art in life. Unlike the previous years 2007, the fifth year of this celebration, Habba is brought in with the private public collaboration as there are multinational companies like Airtel, UB Group, Titan Industries etc... join hands with Karnataka state to felicitate this vent.
The beautifully drawn logo was blown at the brush tip of blessed artist V K S Varma, which proclaims the devotion and dedication of Karnataka towards art and artists. Events will include music, dance, film panorama, street theater, adventure sports, golf tournament, tennis ball cricket tournament, pulling race, vintage car rally...etc. Apart from art performances, the Habba has eat outs, shopping and also film elements. The street plays will be held at 75 junctions in Bangalore. There will be an added attraction in youth festival called 'Resonance', aimed to link the knowledge and experience of the senior citizens with the energy and dynamism of the youth.
Admittedly Bangalore, apart from being the IT capital of India, deserves to be called the cultural capital of India. This year for the first time Habba has given entry to school children from 25 selected government schools. A swimming event is also added. Beginning from 30th of November, Habba will entertain the minds of Bangalore till 9th December. Forget all the deadlines in offices, keep aside the stress and worries of jobs. Get ready to get elevated into the mysterious world of art and music. If you miss it, you will have to wait another 365 days for it to be back again!
