Anamika Khanna Presents 'Luxury 2014' For ICW
Anamika Khanna presented her 'Luxury 2014' collection recently at Kolkata as an extension of India Couture Week 2014. This special collection was a part of the India Couture Week 2014 sponsored by Shree Rajmahal Jewellers and Logix Group. But instead of presenting on the ramp, Anamika Khanna chose to have a showcasing at her store in Kolkata.
Anamika Khanna's 'Luxury 2014' is a collection that is targeted at brides. Although the collection does not look 'bridal' in the typical sense, it presents a modern option to the new brides of India. The collection has some very French 'baroque' elements. The embroidery is exquisite and the drapes are totally playful. You could describe the collection as a vintage one but it did not have elements of traditional bridal attire in it.
The collection comprised earthy colours and lots of matte gold embroidery. There were poncho cholis and heavy lehengas in Luxury 2014. There were also dhoti pants and lots of sheer elements.
There were English floral prints and African tribal motifs in avant-garde juxtapositions. To sum it up, Anamika Khanna's 'Luxury 2014' represented the face of the modern Indian bride who would like to experiment with styles and forms.

Shrug Cholies
Some of the cholis in this collection were shaped like shrugs. These designs seem ideal for the winter weddings.

Baroque Blouse
You can see elements of the French Baroque style in this collection. The blouse is black in colour with gold details. The prints here have Baroque elements in them.

In All Black
The colour palate for this collection is very basic. There is black, white, brown and some other subtle earthy shades. It is not a very colourful collection at all.

Leaf Pattern
This sheer white top is a very interesting one. the leaf pattern on the blouse is can be distinctly seen.

White Lace
White sheer material with colourful embroidery forms the base of this collection.

Poncho Blouses
The blouses are shaped like the ponchos. They have been teamed up with dhoti pants.

Dual Layered Cholis
The cholis are dual layered and the lehenga also has multiple hemlines.
