Purple n Pink Rules Day 3 Of IBFW 2013
Day 3 of IBFW 2013 was a visual bonanza in many ways. We all knew that Anil Kapoor was going to walk for Raghavendra Rathore at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013. But we never expected such innovative styles of mens wear on ramp especially at Indian Bridal Fashion Week. Not only did Raghavendra Rathore re-invent wedding clothing for men, he added an interesting perspective to it.
In the entire collection for India Bridal Fashion Week, Raghavendra Rathore has steered clear from using blacks, browns and whites for this menswear. Instead, he chose the bright pink and purple colours for the grooms. Men are usually left with very limited choice of colours even when it comes to their wedding day. But Day 3 of IBFW 2013 proved that even 'girlish' colours like purple and pink can look dashing on men.
Even the brides were not totally left out of the equation. After all, it is India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 so how can you forget about the lovely ladies. On the Day 3 of IBFW 2013, we saw quite a few purple and pink outfits for women as well. Although there was stress on presenting black as the bridal colour in Raghavendra Rathore's collection, we saw some sparks of pink and purple too.
Here are the pink and purple outfits that ruled Day 3 of IBFW 2013.

Purple Bandhgala Sherwani
This two-piece bandhgala sherwani had a very soothing purple colour. The colour and embroidery was rich enough for the groom but not too bright to hurt the eyes.

Purple Shirt n Black Waistcoat
If this neon shade of purple was worn in isolation, it would have looked way too bright. But as there was sleeveless black velvet waistcoat over it, it looked toned down.

Dark Pink Shirt
The only thing that attracts your attention is the glossy moss green jacket. But the dark pink shirt under it and the purple scarf add some much needed contrast to the ensemble.

Purple Shirt
This embroidered sherwani was over a neon purple shirt. As the V-neckline was left open, we could see the bright purple shirt peeking out of the sepia sherwani.

Pink Layered Top
This baby pink layered top doesn't necessarily have to be bridal. The loose sleeves and cropped hem gives it a distinct boho look. You can even wear it for a causal party.

Dark Purple Suit
When you are using just one colour for a suit, it is preferable to use a darker shade. This deep shade of purple is perfect for any groom-to-be.

Purple Drape Dress
This dress doesn't look stitched. It is one like a series of drapes held together with pins. But the purple colour and gold embroidery makes the dress look regal.

Purple Polka Dotted Jacket
How often have you seen men wearing polka dots? Not every often for sure. But Day 3 of IBFW 2013 was the time to break all the rules. This mauve kurta and the sleeveless deep purple polka dotted jacket over it looks really dapper.

Pink Toga Gown
With this bright pink embroidered toga gown, Raghavendra Rathore has brought days of the Greek Civilisation back. The scooped sleeves and thigh-high slit give the toga a modern touch.

Pink Kurta with Purple Waistcoat
Talk about having one outfit to define them all! This neon pink kurta worn with a sleeveless purple jacket sets the tone for Day 3 of IBFW 2013 perfectly.

Pink Sleeveless Long Jacket
This would have been another mundane black kurta and churidar on the block had it not been for the bright jacket. This baby pink sleeveless long jacket is embroidered beautifully and changes the look of the entire outfit.

All Pink Kurta n Jacket
On this occasion, both the silk kurta and the sleeveless jacket over it are baby pink in colour. A little too uni-dimensional for our taste but you can still try it.
