The Philanthropist Side Of Carla Bruni Sarkozy
Carla Bruni Sarkozy, the French First Lady, gave glimpses of her her philanthropist side as she recently donated a whopping sum of 43,000 pounds to a hospital treating survivors of earthquake- ravaged town of L' Aquila. Now, of us can really think of doing some thing like that? Of course , here I refer to the ones with heavy pockets.
The Daily Express reports, "The former model-singer visited the earthquake-hit region a day after the wives of other leaders participating in the Group of Eight summit (G8) did." She, however, felt that place needed some urgent attention and the officials were there to help the people affected with the natural calamity.
While an entourage of officials showed Bruni around, she said that the French government would contribute 2.7million pounds to help repair the dome of the Santa Maria du Suffragio church.
It was one of many monuments damaged in the April 6 quake, which killed nearly 300 people.
