Akansha Sings For Record 61 Hours
Indore, Nov 10 (UNI) Teenaged sensation Akansha Jachak made a record by marathon singing mostly film songs for about 61 hours with breaks totalling 5 hours and 19 minutes in between.
Her record performance to mark her 16th birthday started at Gandhi Hall here at 1128 hours on Tuesday and ended 28 minutes past midnight last night.
Though the audience changed in between, Akansha continuously sang 725 Hindi films, earlier given voice by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and others, and there was no repetition, her father Prashant Jachak said.
Meanwhile, Akansha has been selected for the National Children Award 2005 and it will be presented by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on November 14 at Vigyan Bhavan in the national capital. The award carries Rs 10,000 in cash, silver medal and a citation.
