When creating a pond, the most important is not to go against the natural settings of your landscape. The pond or waterfall should always complement your landscape. Select the perfect location to build your pond or waterfall. Let it be away from trees to not have leaves shed over the pond. Direct sunshine will help water to be clean and shining. You can even grow beautiful fishes in your ponds to beautify your garden furthermore.Making a pond in the garden is comparatively an easy task. Once you have chosen an ideal location for your pond dig the earth as deep and wide as you wish your pond should be. A pond liner is the best option to spread under your pond to store water. Always use liners of enough thickness and quality to prevent it from tearing. Before spreading the liner make sure that the bottom and side walls of the pond is smooth enough and stone free to ensure long life of the liner. Once the liner is spread in the pond you can fold the edges artistically so that the liner may not be revealed. Decorate the pond edges with small creeping plants and shaped stones. If done with all these you can fill your pond with water. A quick and easy made pond is ready i your garden.
If opt for a waterfall you need to work a bit hard as water fall designs are complicated than ponds. Either you can select a rocky surface to flow down water or even a flat surface could be created. If there are slopes in the garden it will help you to reduce the extra work of making a platform higher than ground. Once you have made or selected a steep location, you can now start beautifying the surface with small stones. Water flowing over stones will make look like a natural waterfall. If a pond is attached to the waterfall the flowing water could be collected in the pond and could be re-pumped to the waterfall. Preferably a waterfall should be made at stay within eye level when in a sitting position to achieve a more impressive effect.
The final step in bringing life to your pond and waterfall is enhancing the surrounding area with additional stones or boulders and moisture-loving plants. Choose plants that are naturally found growing alongside wet environments. Building a pond waterfall takes little time and effort and its rewards will last a lifetime. It is a proven fact that water has the ability to alter moods. The rhythms, sounds, and aesthetics of watery locations will enrich your day with the coolness and beauty of it.
