1. Yawning:

5. Myoclonic Jerks:
This refers to the sudden jolt with which we wake up after drifting off to sleep. This happens because, as we fall asleep, the frequency of our breathing rapidly falls and the pulse slows down. The brain identifies this development and tries to save you with a sudden jerk.

6. Skin Wrinkling:
The wrinkles that appear on the skin of the hands are caused when the body encounters an increased amount of moisture. It understands that the environment might be slippery. The skin on the hands will begin to change facilitating you to grip on to smooth surfaces.

7. Loss Of Memory:
After the occurrence of very unpleasant experiences, there occurs a loss of memory. The brain deletes the most horrible moments from our memory.

8. Goosebumps:
The main purpose of goosebumps is to reduce the amount of heat our bodies lose through the pores of our skin. This makes it easier to warm the body during inhospitable conditions. This is one of the best signs of self defense mechanism that the body shows.

9. Tears:
You may all know about the fact that tears act as a protective agent of the mucous membrane of the eyes. Apart from this, it also serves as an instrument of emotional defense. During stressful situations, the body creates an irritation that distracts a person from his/her current pain.
