Stress, sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise are among the major causes for hypertension and this has been on the rise over the past few years.
A recent survey conducted by Praja Foundation has revealed that the number of hypertension cases have increased alarmingly at the national capital, Delhi.
As per the survey it has been reported that the number of hypertension cases in Delhi have increased from 3,22,510 in 2015 to 3,61,443 in 2016. For the survey a total sample size of 24,301 households was taken into consideration.
In addition to hypertension, the cases of diarrhoea were also on the rise. The cases of diarrhoea have increased from 5,64,416 in 2015 to 6,22,480 in 2016.

hypertension.

a

fruits
and
vegetables,
fibre-rich
foods,
especially
those

potassium

daily
diet.

of
excess
calories,
fat,
and
sugar
helps
prevent
high
blood
pressure.

Cut
Down
On
Salt
Consumption:
It
is

important
to
cut
down
on
intake
of
salt.
When
there
is
too
much
of
salt
in
the
body,
it
retains
the
fluids
in
the
body
thus
increasing
the
blood
pressure.

Cut
Down
On
Alcohol:
