There are certain mistakes that you could be making which could be causing harm to these parts of your body and also affecting your overall health in the long run.

Many of us fail to get enough sleep during menstruation. As sleep is essential for repairing our body, not getting enough sleep can harm our body and cause inflammation and keep us stressed. Seven to eight hours of sleep is extremely important during your periods. This will help to take care of your mood swings and help you to fight cramps and body aches.

Many women stop exercising during their periods. While certain workouts might turn out to be fatal as these might harm the uterus, women are encouraged to go for light exercises and walks during this time. It will help one to sleep better and also to fight cramps and mood swings.

Many women increase their intake of coffee during this time. Limiting it to three cups per day is essential or else it might leave you dehydrated and give you headaches. It can also cause problems with your sleeping pattern and cause anxiety and mood swings.

Many women go for douching during this time. This can get rid of the odour for a short period of time and also make you feel clean, but research has proved that it can cause problems in the long run. This is because douching disturbs the natural pH balance in the vagina and this can lead to infections in the long run.
