Poor bowel movements or constipation can be due to many factors. Age, stress, medication, lack of exercise, fiber deficiency and other such factors could cause constipation.

Today, almost every one person among ten suffer constipation. Irregular bowels could cause several other issues if not handled well on time. Let us discuss about a home remedy using dates and prunes.

Prunes contain fibre. We all know that fibre is good for the digestive system. Also, prunes come with sorbitol. It can loosen your stool and relieve you from constipation.

In fact, some people soak prunes in a glass of water every night and consume the water after waking up. It may ease bowel movements but overdoing it may cause loose motions.

You will need 150 grams of prunes, 150 grams of dates and 5 cups of water. First, you need to slice the prunes and dates. Boil some water in a vessel and add those pieces to the boiling water.

Until you see a thick mixture, keep boiling it. Once it is ready, allow it to cool. Every morning you can consume a teaspoon of the mixture. You can also add it to your morning cereal or yoghurt and consume it regularly.
