Pincha Mayurasana (Feathered Peacock Pose) To Strengthen Arms And Shoulders
Pincha Mayurasana is also known as the Feathered Peacock Pose and is one of the advanced yoga asanas which is widely known to strengthen the arms and shoulders.
The arms and shoulders are two of the most important body parts without which our day-to-day activities would have been affected. For instance, if you have to lift something heavy or carry a bag, the arms and the shoulders need to be strong.

Even in yoga there are several asanas, among which Pincha Mayurasana or the Feathered Peacock Pose is found to be the best asana to strengthen the arms and shoulders.

Though Pincha Mayurasana is helpful in strengthening the arms and shoulders, initially it is tough for a beginner and requires support to perform the asana. It also requires a lot of balance. However, with continuous practise one can perform it easily.
Here is the step-wise procedure to perform Pincha Mayurasana and get strong arms and shoulders. Have a look.
Step-by-step Procedure To Perform Pincha Mayurasana:
1. To begin with stand in Tadasana.

2. Slowly bend down the upper part of your body as in Adho Mukha Svanasana.

3. The palms of both your hands should be parallel and pressed against the ground.
4. The back and the shoulders should be firm.
5. Take a deep breath and slowly lift up one leg with the support of the wall.
6. Then slowly lift up the other leg as well.

7. Maintain the balance and slowly stretch the body.
8. Once you get to the perfect pose, hold on to the position for a few seconds.
9. Slowly come out of the pose.
