Female Hormones; Know Its Role & Importance
Female hormones play a prominent role in the development of a woman's body. These are instrumental in serving different purposes that a woman's body is meant to in different phases of life.
Hormones are substances, which transfer information and regulate many processes through the body. There are many specialised female hormones that influence women from the start of life right into senior years. Therefore, it is essential to learn only as much as possible about them.
As we grow up, hormones which were once dormant, start to be discharged and cause many changes in physical appearance. Female hormones are accountable for all the specialised development a woman goes through in becoming a female. The process typically takes around four years and during this time varying bodily hormone levels can be hard to adapt to.
As the process starts, the hypothalamus starts to release hormones which subsequently activate the endocrine gland and the pituitary gland to discharge two other hormones. These hormones are the luteinising bodily hormone and the follicle stimulating hormone. These are sent to the ovaries, that are then stimulated to create their very own female hormones.
Female hormones may also be essential in modulating a woman's menstrual period, enabling her to give birth. The primary hormones produced by the ovaries are progesterone and oestrogen. These together with the luteinising bodily hormone and the follicle stimulating hormone have an important role to play in a woman's natural cycle.
Hormones undergo a radical change when a female becomes pregnant as well. Oestrogen and progesterone levels stay high within the body at this time. Each bodily hormone involved with pregnancy serves an important role in this complex cycle. Hormone levels all over again undergo another radical change, reverting to regular levels after the child is born.
This could be hard for some women to conform to as there are various negative symptoms that she has to undergo which are believed to be due to the many hormonal changes happening within the body.
Women undergo another change in bodily hormone amounts at around the age of forty five to fifty. At this stage the ovaries become unable to produce regular amounts of female hormones. When the process starts there might be irregularities in the menstrual period until finally it ceases altogether.
This could have a negative impact on many facets of health as oestrogen is responsible for protecting the heart and bones. Numerous ways to treat the adverse effects include bodily hormone replacement therapy.
