12 Unhealthy Office Habits You & I Have
Smoking kills, being overweight leads to a heart attack, consumption of alcohol destroys your kidneys... These are the three worst habits anyone can have..
However, a new study shows that sitting at your work desk is a level higher of a bad habit than the three mentioned above. A desktop can literally kill you in ways that will astonish you. Along with this there is a long list of unhealthy office habits most of us follow which is unhealthy in some way or the other.
Not washing your hands after a visit to the loo, taking a call in the bathroom, your keyboard, crossing your legs for hours, having a so called 'healthy' meal at the desk, are some of the unhealthy office habits we follow.
Boldsky has shared with you a list of bad habits we do at office which should be discontinued immediately, if you want to stay fit and healthy. Take a look at the habits you should say bye too.
Phone-Loo Visit
There are a lot of people who visit the loo and forget to wash their hands. There are a million germs thriving on your hand after you finish the loo, which is harmful to your health.
Sitting All Day
Sitting all day long is not good for one. Make sure to take a five to ten minute break every hour. Sitting for more than an hour, will lead to obesity.
The Wrong Posture
Sit upright and straight when your seated at the desk. This is important as it will not lead to back and neck aches.
Your Happy Desk Lunch
One of the worst unhealthy habits we all follow is having lunch at the desk. It is not good for two reasons - there are a lot of germs at your desk and secondly, it is important to change your environment during lunch.
Forgetting Water Breaks
We get so caught up in our day to day work that we forget to sip on water through the day. Water is needed to keep you hydrated and help in proper blood circulation.
Rubbing Your Eyes
Your keyboard has a lot of germs so touching your face and your eyes is not a healthy habit to follow. Santise your fingers before rubbing your eyes to avoid eye infections.
Multitasking
If you want to impress your boss, multi tasking is not your option. Multitasking leads to stress which most of us forget we are under, that is not healthy and is a bad habit.
Saying No To Breakfast
Never say no to your king size breakfast. Saying no to a meal will decrease your energy levels making you feel lethargic and sick.
Sick Leaves Are Forgotten
Working right through without a leave is an unhealthy habit most of us follow. It is important to take that one day in the month to simply relax.
Not Stepping Out
Step out of your office twice during the day, especially if your working in an ac environment. Pamper yourself with a little dose of vitamin D.
Bathroom Rules
Follow bathroom rules, it is hygienic and good for health. Avoid taking calls in the bathroom and avoid taking your phone to the loo.
Music Kills Too
They say music helps to calm your soul and relaxes the being. It is true. But, listening to music all day long with ear phones Is not a healthy habit to follow.
