How To Use A Public Toilet Safely
Nature's call is an urgency which we have to tend to. If we are outside our house then we have to go a public toilet, a place where various germs infest. You have to take certain precaution while using a public toilet.
Public toilet can be a source of many infections and if proper precautions are not taken, these infections can be transmitted from one person to another.
Simple Tips To Relieve Backache
Toilet seats contain many bacteria and when a person sits on it, these bacteria can travel from the urethra and cause urinary track infections. Many serious infections such as AIDS (acquired immuno deficiency syndrome) in rare cases can also occur.
Apart from that many other intestinal infections can also be transmitted. You have to be extra cautious while visiting a public toilet such as wash your hands, use flush first, put a tissue paper over the toilet seat and then sit on it.
Have a look at some more necessary precautions that you must take while using a public toilet.

Be Careful With Your Belongings
Avoid taking your belongings with you in a loo. You can ask your friend to hold them or hang then elsewhere in a toilet rather than putting them on a on the floor or on a counter which contain lot of germs.

Door Knob Can Carry Many Germs
Try to open the door by holding any other surface of the door other than the door knob. All people visiting the bathroom are holding the same door knob and may carry many types of infections. So avoid holding it.

Don't Take Off Your Foot Wear
No matter how clean a floor of a toilet seems to be, don't take off your shoes. The germs on the floor can get transmitted from your skin into the blood. So removing shoes should be avoided in a public toilet.

Wash Your Hands
This is a basic rule to protect yourself from infections. Sometimes when you forget to wash your hands then use a hand sanitiser. But make it a point to wash your hands properly after using a public toilet.

Avoid Hand Dryer
Use a paper towel to dry up your hands after washing. The blow hand dryer will spread all the germs that are present in the air to your hands. You will end up infecting your hands after washing them.

Press The Flush Button Using A Tissue
The flush button can also carry many infection causing germs as it is touched by many people. Apart from this it also contains usual toilet germs. Use a tissue and then press it and later throw the tissue. This is one of the best tip to safely use public toilets.

Close The Lid When You Flush
Flushing causes a slight shower of water droplets into the air. Since public toilets are too small so you may get infected with the germs in this fine mist of flush. Always close the lid of the toilet seat when you use flush.

Prefer An Indian Style Toilet
It is better to use Indian style toilet over a western one. There is no contact of the skin to any of the toilet surfaces in Indian toilets. However in western toilet seats you have to sit and many infections on the seat can be transmitted into the body.

Hover Over The Seat
If no Indian style toilets are available then you can use western toilets without skin contact. Don't completely sit on a seat rather than just hover a few inches above the seat so that there is no contact with the toilet seat.

Wipe The Seat
If you are going to sit on a toilet seat, first wipe it with a clean tissue and then sit on it. This will remove all the possible infection causing germs.
