5 Simple Yoga Poses For Beginners
Doing yoga goes way beyond improving your flexibility. The breathing exercises used in yoga will help you to reduce stress and find inner peace. This particular discipline is practised by people irrespective of caste, creed and colour to help them improve their general health.
Yoga has poses which are referred to as asanas. It also has controlled breathing that helps in distressing and providing a good amount of oxygen to the brain.
Yoga will also help to boost the immunity of the system. The meditation that is involved with most of the yoga poses will help you sleep better and also help with the overall health of the body.
There are different stages of yoga that one needs to understand. You always need to start simple before reaching the highest form. This can be achieved with the continuous practice of yoga. The yoga poses for beginners are very simple and easy to the body. This will help you to enjoy yoga.
Yoga poses for beginners are basically used to de-stress. Following are mentioned a few simple yoga positions that you can do while starting off with yoga.
Mountain Pose
This is one of the simple yoga positions, where you stand tall with feet together and shoulders relaxed and weight needs to be distributed evenly throughout the body. Deep breaths is required while you lift your arms facing each other and fingertips pointing to the sky. Exhale while bringing the arms down.
Downward Dog
This is one of the yoga poses for beginners. This needs to be started off by placing your hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Move your arms a few inches away, pressing your hands on the mat and spreading your fingers. Then, curl your toes and point your hips to the ceiling. This position needs to be held for 3 full breaths.
Warrior Pose
This is another simple position that can be useful for beginners. Stand with your legs 3 to 4 feet apart with your right foot at 90 degrees and left foot turned slightly inside. Bring hands to your hips and then extend your arms to the sides by relaxing your shoulders. Bend your right knee to 90 degrees and stay in this position for a minute. Switch side and repeat.
Triangle Pose
This is one of the yoga poses for beginners. Extend your arm to the sides and bend over your right leg. Feet needs to be 3 feet apart, with right foot at 90 degrees and left leg at 45 degrees. Touch your right hand on the floor and extend your left arm to the ceiling. Your head should be facing the ceiling and you need to hold this position for 5 breaths. Switch side and repeat.
Cobra Pose
Lie face down on the floor with your palm under your shoulder. Your legs needs to be extended with the top of your feet on the floor. Tighten your pelvic floor, press your shoulder down. Now, push through your thumb and index finger to lift your chest from the floor as much as you can. Relax and repeat.
