Vacation Vs Staycation: Which Is Better?
Wondering what is a staycation? Well, it is a vacation wherein you simply stay at home and relax. In the stressful life it becomes important to take a break from work once in a while. If you constantly work without any leisure time in your hands, then you will not be emotionally and mentally sane. Or else, you could go through a professional burnout.
The easiest way to relax during the break from work is a vacation at some exotic location. It should refresh your mind and body. But nowadays, there is the new concept of staycation, or a vacation when you stay at home.
Which is a better stress buster; vacation or staycation? We are about to find out.
Packing Stress: Packing for a vacation is a very stressful job. You have to make sure that you carry everything that you need. And if you don't, then you can probably get into trouble at your holiday destination. So, the stress of a vacation begins even before you start traveling.
Stressful Travel: Traveling is a stressful affair whether you travel by air or by road. The air traffic is terrible and it will surely wear you out. On top of that, you have a hectic task to catch your flight on time. While driving in itself is a physical exertion. A staycation relieves you of the stress of traveling long distances.
Home Sweet Home: We all say that we are bored of staying at home. But how much time do we actually stay at home. If you do the math, we spend less that 8-10 hours of our day at our home. So when you are taking a break from work, will it not be worthwhile to spend your entire time at home?
Home Food: You are bound to eat outside food when you travel for a vacation. You might like gourmet food personally but it will surely not do much good to your stomach. On the contrary, you can enjoy home-cooked healthy food if you spend time at home.
Hobbies: Most of us do not get time to inculcate our hobbies. If you use up your free time for traveling, then there is no time to paint, cook or do some activity that you love doing. A staycation gives you the chance to cultivate your favourite hobby at home.
Sound Sleep: It is very difficult to sleep soundly on a vacation because you are too much enjoying. But if you spend time at home, you get enough time to catch up on some lost sleep that you lost during your workdays.
