Easy Ways To Eat Oats
Eat it dry: This is one of the simplest ways to eat this cereal. Just munch the crisp oat flakes dry. Few people do not like to eat oats with milk as it tastes like a sweet porridge. To make the dry snack more delicious, add cashew nuts, raisins and almonds.
Milk/yogurt: Instead of soaking oats in hot water, simply mix with coconut milk or plain yogurt. Go for flavoured yogurt. Make sure the yogurt does not have artificial sweetener. Add hot milk with oats and serve it immediately before it becomes a porridge. Dieters should have skimmed milk to avoid gaining extra pounds. If you have a sweet tooth, just add few drops of chocolate sauce to your breakfast bowl.
Add fruits/syrup: Fruits add an entirely different taste to the dish. Give oats a slight twist to make it taste good. Include fruits you love the most. Juicy fruits such as apples, mango, watermelon, grapes, kiwi, strawberry etc. can make the boring breakfast tasty. If you do not have fruits, you can add fruit syrup or maple syrup to enjoy the all new taste of oats.
Use as toppings: Now you can make your salads more crisp by adding oats. Garnish your fruit or vegetable salad with oats topping. You can go creative by using whipped cream, pomegranate, strawberry or cherries to prepare a presentable salad.
Nuts: Almonds, cashew nuts, raisins, apricot, walnuts and pistachios are healthy nuts. You can include them in your diet to have a healthy body. Whether you prepare oatmeal or simply add it as toppings on your dish, just sprinkle a handful of nuts.
Oats chaat: This is an another easy way to eat oats. Mix vegetables such as chopped cucumber, onion, capsicum, green chillies and tomatoes. Add spices and pour little lemon juice. Your evening snack is ready. You can have it sweet too! Mix milk with vegetables and garnish with fruits such as pomegranate. These snacks are filling and healthy too!
Oats pancake/cookies: Having oatmeal everyday becomes monotonous. Try something different by making oat pancakes on weekends. You can also make cookies and have it with a cup of tea/coffee every evening.
