Saffron Health Benefits And Natural Cures

Saffron which hails from the land of Arabia, is one of the most expensive spices in the world. It is widely used in Asian culinary for it's natural colours property. Scientists have now proved that saffron health benefits are widespread and this spice is a natural cure to many health disorders. Two of the major health benefits of saffron are -

1.Improving Vision - The professors of ARC Center of Excellence in Vision science have confirmed that one of the health benefits of saffron is that it protects and prevents vision. It is a very effective antioxidant and affects the genes which manages fatty acid levels in the membrane of the cells. The vision cells become stronger and also heals with this source of antioxidant. Researchers have said that saffron has vision-repairing components.

2.Depression - The Phytotherpy Research had discussed a study which had proved that intake of saffron can treat mild and moderate depression. The study was done on 40 depression patients. Out of which 20 were given a dose of 30 mg saffron for 6 weeks, while others were given the general medication. After completion of the experiment it was noticed that their was significant decrease in their depression.


Other health benefits of saffron are -
