Foods That Your Heart Will Love
Heart trouble is the number one cause of death in countries worldwide and diet is certainly a major contributing factor to heart troubles. Can we do something to make sure that we have a healthy heart? Luckily yes! We have the ability to make the needed positive changes by making some changes in our diet.
What is the best diet for a healthy heart? Which foods could you eat that can improve your cardiovascular wellbeing and promise you of an extended life? Specific whole foods are known for their capability to support heart health. Read on to discover healthy foods you should keep in your fridge and eat more regularly.
A diet of fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, beans, nuts and seeds should increasingly replace fatty animal products, foods which are fried and refined carbohydrates. Go for lean meat like poultry and avoid red meat. The fat in poultry is easily digestible.
Avoid ghee, butter and cheese completely. Use very little oil while cooking and switch to olive oil if you can. Olive oil is great in flushing out fat from the body. This will improve blood cholesterol and blood fat balance. It will also lower blood pressure levels and provide nourishment to the heart muscle.
Oily fish like sardines, mackerel, salmon and tuna or top quality fish oil tablets provide essential fatty acids, which aid in keeping the heart healthy. Avoid deep fried items and instead saute your food as much as possible. Also have green smoothies for breakfast. These are great in flushing out fat from the body.
Researchers found that among the major risk factors for heart problems is a diet low in plant fibre and saturated in animal foods, foods that are fried and refined carbohydrates. By tipping this balance towards entire plant foods we not only protect and support the heart, we may actually repair arterial harm which has already been done.
