Celeb Beauty Routine: ‘Sankalp’ Fame Roop Durgapal Shares Her Skincare and Glow Secrets
For actress Roop Durgapal, glowing skin isn't about an elaborate 10-step routine or expensive products alone. The Balika Vadhu fame star believes beauty begins with how you live: what you eat, how you breathe, and how well you take care of your mind.
In an exclusive interaction with BoldSky, the actress shared the simple habits that help her stay fresh and radiant even during long shooting schedules. As she prepares for her OTT debut with the upcoming series Sankalp, her routine blends traditional Indian remedies, mindful wellness practices, and minimal skincare, proving that consistency often matters more than complexity.
A Nourishing Start To The Morning
For Roop, the day begins with a ritual that focuses on internal wellness.
"I start my morning by drinking warm water mixed with ghee and turmeric," she shared.
Once her morning routine is complete, she moves on to skincare basics. Moisturiser, under-eye cream, and sunblock are essentials she never skips. Hydration also remains a key part of her routine throughout the day.
"Throughout the day, I make sure to remain well hydrated," she said, adding that keeping the body nourished from within plays a major role in maintaining healthy skin.
Trusting Time-Tested Natural Remedies
Roop also swears by simple ingredients commonly found in Indian kitchens - remedies that have been passed down through generations.
"I like to massage my face with banana and papaya peels sometimes, and also tomato slices after sun exposure," she revealed.
Another skincare favourite is a classic homemade face pack.
"The traditional mix of besan, haldi and rose water works as a fabulous face pack," she said.
These natural ingredients, she believes, help maintain skin health without overwhelming it with too many products.
Yoga As A Way Of Life
For the actress, beauty is deeply connected to overall wellbeing. A committed yoga practitioner, she follows a disciplined morning routine that goes beyond basic stretches.
"Yes, I am a staunch yoga believer and I follow yogic practices beyond the usual yoga asanas and pranayama," she explained.
Her routine begins with cleansing kriyas such as Jal Neti and Kapal Randhra Dhauti, followed by stretches, yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation.
"Yoga is a way of life. What you feel deep within reflects outside, so it's important to start from within," she said.
Skincare On Busy Shoot Days
Long hours on set can make skincare tricky, especially when makeup stays on for extended periods. Still, Roop tries to keep a few essentials close at hand.
"One skincare step I never skip is using sunblock and lip balm," she shared.
To stay refreshed during shoots, she carries a rose water mist and focuses on staying hydrated.
"I spray rose water on my face whenever I want to feel fresh and try to drink coconut water or non-caffeinated green teas," she added.
Before makeup sessions begin, she also uses an under-eye mask and a deep hydrating mask, along with a good primer to help makeup stay flawless for longer hours.
A Balanced Night Routine
While Roop prefers natural remedies in the morning, she leans towards premium skincare products at night.
"At night it's luxury skincare only, as natural remedies I prefer in the morning. I balance both," she said.
Even then, she keeps her routine simple - focusing mainly on cleansing and nourishment.
"I just follow a good cleansing routine, then apply a serum, night cream, and eye cream. And of course a good lip balm," she shared.
She also has a unique beauty habit: applying castor oil on her nails and eyebrows before going to bed.
Occasionally, she indulges in a sleep mask for an added glow.
"When I use a sleep mask after night care, my skin glows like a bulb the next morning!" she laughed.
Her Ultimate Beauty Mantra
For Roop, beauty ultimately comes down to inner balance rather than external products.
"Be happy, calm and relaxed from within," she advised. "If you're stressed, no matter how expensive the products you use externally, it won't help. Breathe well, work out and hydrate."
In an industry often associated with complicated beauty regimens, Roop Durgapal's routine is a reminder that sometimes the simplest habits: good sleep, yoga, hydration, and mindful skincare, can make the biggest difference.
