We all love spicy food, but when they cause acidity, we just hate it. By 'acidity', we mean gastritis or inflammation of the lining of stomach. Would you want to know of Ayurvedic remedies to treat acidity? Then, keep reading.
Excessive secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach causes acidity, which in turn leads to inflammation and discomfort. Prolonged acidity can cause chronic indigestion, ulcers and other digestive diseases.
Why acidity/acid reflux occurs?
Our stomach produces certain acids to breakdown the food that we eat for digestive purpose. The problem comes up when cells within the lining of the stomach produce a quantity of acid that is more than what the stomach requires.
Too much intake of spicy foods generally leads to excessive secretion of acids in the gastric glands. Sometimes, the sour liquid goes back up to our throat, causing an acid reflux.
