Normally, breasts hurt and pain for various reasons. Breast pain is not a normal affair. Try to find out the reason before you begin treating them.

It could be the side effect to a prescribed dose of medication or some kind of issue due to your menstrual cycles. In some cases, when women reach a certain age, they suffer from breast pains. When there is a sharp pain in the breast, it definitely signifies some kind of a problem that needs attention. It does not have to be a major problem, but it definitely is an issue that better not be neglected.

Reasons Why Your Breasts Hurt

Some women face breast pains especially when they enter their menopause. It is pretty common even when there has been hormonal imbalance in the body. Here are some of the most commonly observed reasons for pain in the breasts.

Hormonal Imbalance
Breast pain occurs owing to hormonal changes or imbalances observed in your body. Generally, menstrual cycles, pregnancy and menopause are periods during which maximum hormonal changes are observed in women. Lack of estrogen, an important hormone in women, can lead to breast pain. If women are under stress, then their hormones go for a toss and can cause pain in the breasts.

Tight Bras
Wearing tight bras can also cause pain in your breasts. You will see that tight bras give no room to breathe for your breasts, and this is possibly one of the major reasons why there is a sharp pain in your breasts. This is a normal affair especially when your breasts grow in size, but you don’t acknowledge the growth with bras of that size.

Support During Exercises
If you are exercising at home, you tend to forget wearing a bra. What happens eventually is that your exercise sessions get carried on without a proper bra or support. This means after all the jumping and stuff, your breasts start to ache. This is a wrong way to exercise as you are not giving enough support to your breasts, and happen to ignore the pain that may come with it.

Excess Caffeine
A lot of you have a habit of consuming excess caffeine. Women tend to have breast aches especially if they are caffeine addicts. Caffeine is definitely good for your health, but only if taken in limits. If your breasts feel lumpy, and are giving you a terrible ache, you might need to cut down on your caffeine intake. Instead of having 5 cups a day, try having somewhere around 2 or 3 cups a day.

Side Effects of Medicines
Pain in your breast could also be due to side effects caused by medicines. Some medicines have side effects that impact the production of estrogen in your body. This hormone is important for proper breast functions. If you want your breasts to feel good at the end of the day, try having medicines without side effects, or those that don’t cause allergies in your body.

Acidity Effects
Acidity could also be a major reason for your breast pain. If you are suffering from acidity, try taking an antacid. This will help you know if your breast pain is because of acidity or not.

Cysts
Do you feel a round or ovalish lump in your breasts? This could be a cyst that is troubling you. If this lump exists with a certain pain, you might want to get it tested. Such cysts could be cancerous, and you might want to get it treated as soon as possible. Normally, such cysts, especially the harmless ones, come with menopause. It is perfectly fine to get your breast and related aches checked every once in a while as soon as you enter your menopause.
