Exercising During Navratri Fast: Tips
Exercising without proper planning and analysing the condition of your body can be harmful. It is especially true if you are on a fast during this Navratri. Not only during Navratri, exercising during any kind of fasting has to be properly considered. This is because when you are not eating, your body does not get the supply of the essential nutrients. This results in lack of strength and energy which is needed for exercising.
Even though exercising is good while you are on a fast, you need to plan it properly. You just cannot go and run a marathon while you are fasting, unnecessarily straining yourself. You need to be active and engage yourself in physical activities that will help to keep yourself healthy and energised during the fasting period.

Research has shown that exercising a little while after you finish fasting that is after you have eaten something has great health benefits. So, if you are planning to stick to your exercise regime while you are fasting this Navratri, then do follow these simple tips:
Low impact exercises: Simple aerobics, a bit of gardening or a short walk is enough to keep you healthy during the Navratri fast. So, do not get carried away and hit the gym while on fast. Keep your exercise regime simple and effective.
Stretching exercises: Stretching exercises and walk are the safest exercises you can do during Navratri. But do not over do any of it or it will have adverse effects on your health.
Be careful with weights: If you are planning on weights training while fasting then you must keep a few things in mind. Exercise only after eating something because if you don't then your body will draw energy from your muscles, making you weak.
Do the Garba: During Navratri, Garba dancing is one of the most interesting rituals. Garba dancing is the best way to build your stamina while losing weight at the same time. To get the maximum benefit of Garba dancing, increase your leg and hand movement.
Keep hydrated: Drink a lot of fluids if you plan to exercise while fasting. Drink a lot of milk, fresh juices and water to keep yourself hydrated while you are fasting.
The main idea is that you have to keep your body healthy by exercising during the Navratri fast. So, stick to this plan and don't strain your body.
