Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015: Gauahar Khan Walks For Rinku Sobti

Every year at Lakme Fashion Week Autumn Winter, we get excited to see the Indian handloom and textile collection. Designer Rinku Sobti presented her LOOM 1905 designs and trust us when we say this - it was fabulous.

Actress Gauahar Khan who was the showstopper for the textile collection looked splendid in a golden attire. She walked the ramp like she owned it and drew in a lot of attention wearing the best ensemble for the night from this blazing collection.

Rinku Sobti's Loom 1905 is all about the rich Indian handloom culture that prevails and the intricate works of the weavers in the Bajardiya cluster to shape her collection 'Tassels'.

It is a creation which is an ode to the handloom tradition and skilled weavers of India. What we loved the most about the collection is the mixture of colours. Ms Sobti has made sure that there is an interwoven contemporary and traditional style in each of her ensembles which bring in a major part of Varanasi.

If you take a look at this collection at LFW A/W 2015, you will see that she has introduced avant-garde cuts and checks while the grand shines through in the detailing of the traditional crafts with striking jewels that compliment the vivid colour palette of the fabrics.

The prêt includes chic garments with check designs and the grand comprises ornate fabrics with richly woven patterns. The novel silk net weaves that are a heritage and forte of the Bajardiya weavers brilliantly feature in the check patterns of the prêt designs.

Showstopper Gauahar Khan was a good selection in walking the ramp for the designer as the actress truly brought out the inner value of the line.
