#IWearHandloom: 12 Celebrities Who Were Spotted Wearing Handloom Sarees
#IWearHandloom campaign just started trending on Twitter and Facebook. If you don't know this yet then you may need backdrop story.
The hashtag started trending after the textile minister Smriti Irani posted a picture of hers clad in a handloom cotton saree from Bihar and asked people to share their handloom look-books.
The idea behind this was to promote the campaign I Wear Handloom, which is asking people to lend a support to 43 lakh Indian weavers and their families all across the country. Also, spreading awareness about the Indian textile industry.
We thought what a great cause! So we decided to list a number of celebrities in the fashion industry, Bollywood and politics who were seen in handloom sarees. The celebrities in the list were seen cladding the handloom sarees for their day-to-day- work, some were seen walking the ramp for the designer, et al.
