Healthy Banana Raita For Vasant Navratri
With vasant navratri celebrations on, today we share with you a famous navratri delicacy. Although there are many navratri culinary delights, it is best to make some healthy recipes as many observe strict fast in the festive season. During vasant navratri, the followers of the fast have only one meal a day (after the sunset) and that too, a purely vegetarian meal. Here is a list of items that are only to be used while making food. Take a look
;List of ingredients: Red chilies, turmeric, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, rock salt, milk, curd, fruits, nuts and vegetables except onion and garlic
;Banana Raita For Vasant Navratri -
;Ingredients:
1. 1 cup thick curds (or yogurt)
2. 2 ripe bananas (mashed and soaked in lemon juice)
3. 1 tsp roasted peanuts (optional)
4. 2 tbsp roasted almonds or cashews (chopped)
5. 1 green chili (chopped)
6. Salt according to taste
7. 1 tsp oil
Spices -
1. ' tsp mustard seeds
2. Pinch of chilli powder
3. ' tsp garam Masala
4. ' tsp cumin seeds
Garnish -
1. Coriander leaves (chopped)
Banana Raita Preparation:
;1. In a bowl, add all the above ingredients (except oil, spices and garnish) and mix well.
2. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle chili powder, garam masala.
3. Season with fried mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Tasty banana raita is ready
