Masala Rava Idli Recipe: Breakfast
Rava idli is one of South India's best recipes when it comes to a breakfast treat. This recipe of masala rava idli is one of the best you can try out this morning for breakfast. It is a healthy breakfast recipe for you to try out and it is easy for you to prepare. Masala rava idli tastes well with coconut or peanut chutney but the former is usually preferred.
Rava masala idli is nutritional and provides you with a lot of energy too. Consuming this healthy breakfast, you will see that the start of your day will be energetic. Rava is one of the best ingredients for diabetic patients too. It is a safer option when compared to rice flour.

Serves: 3
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- Semolina- 3 cups
- Oil- 3tbsp
- Red Peppers- 2 (chopped)
- Curry Leaves- 7
- Mustard Seeds- 1tsp
- Yogurt- 1 cup
- Salt to taste
Method
- In a pan, heat a little oil and when hot, add in the chopped peppers, curry leaves, mustard seeds.
- Let the ingredients splutter in the pan. Now add in the semolina to the mixture and saute it over a low heat.
- When sauted, switch the flame off and let it cool aside.
- When the ingredients is cool, mix the semolina with the one cup of yogurt to make a smooth batter.
- Add in the salt to the batter and mix it well.
- Now keep the batter aside in a warm place for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, place the batter into the idli steamer and steam it for about 6 minutes. Remove after 6 minutes and then open the steamer.
Masala rava idli is now ready to eat. You can enjoy this lovely breakfast with hot sambar or coconut chutney.
