Pepper Rasam Recipe – Easy And Healthy
What can be a better medicine than "Rasam" for common cold, cough and other digestion related ailments. Pepper rasam is the pick of today's recipes as it suits the best for the chilling winter. Pepper rasam is type of pepper soup that is eaten with rice and is famous in southern India.
Pepper helps in improving digestion and clears throat irritation. Rasam is also said to cure sinusitis and head ache. So Take a look on how to prepare the tasty pepper rasam recipe for this chilling season.
Pepper Rasam Recipe
Ingredients:
1.2 tsp pepper powder
2.1 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3.1/2 tsp mustard seeds
4.Curry leaves
5.3 tsp tamarind juice
6.1 tsp jaggery (powder) or brown sugar
7.1 tsp coriander leaves (finely chopped)
8.Pinch of asoefetida
9.Salt to taste
10.2 tsp ghee
11.7 cups of water
12.2 red chillies (optional)
13.1 tsp oil
14.Ginger paste
15.Garlic paste (optional)
Method:
1.In a vessel, Fry mustard seeds, cumin seeds, coriander leaves and red chillies for one minute.
2.Add water, pepper powder, salt, jaggery powder, ginger paste, garlic paste and tamarind juice to the vessel and stir well.
3.Heat the mixture on a low flame until it starts boiling.
4.Season with asafoetida in ghee.
5.Garnish with chopped coriander. Tasty Pepper rasam recipe ready to serve.
6.Eat pepper rasam when hot with plain rice. This rasam recipe serves 12.
