Potato Bajjis For An Evening Treat
One of the most loved vegetables which every child and adult loves to eat at any part of the day is potatoes. It is one vegetable which no one can say no too either. Today, if you are wondering what to make for your little ones when they return from school, we give you one of the best evening recipes to try out.
Potato fritters or potato bajjis as it is widely known is an easy recipe which you can try out this evening. If your family loves the taste of potatoes, then you should definitely try this yummy friend snack.
You must have heard of the famous onions bajjis which most people love to enjoy with a cup of tea. But, lets try out this yummy fried snack, potato bajjis.

Ingredients
- Potato - 3 (sliced )
- Besan Flour - 1 ½ cup
- Water - 1 cup
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Garam Masala powder - ½ tsp
- Asafoetida - 1 pinch
- Baking Soda - 2 pinch
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Procedure
- First you need to skin the potato suing a peeler. Wash the potatoes well with water and soak them in salt solution for 15 minutes.
- Now drain out all the water and begin to slice the potatoes using a knife. Slice the potatoes into thin slices.
- In a separate bowl, add the besan flour, chilli powder, garam masala, baking soda, asafoetida and salt. Mix all these ingredients well with each other.
- To this bowl, add in the water slowly and begin to mix it gently using your hands,
- Mix the flour well with the water and make sure that no lumps form.
- When ready, add to the mixed flour the sliced potatoes and mix well. Make sure that the potatoes are covered completely with the flour.
- Now take a pan, add a spoon of oil and heat it on a medium flame.
- When the oil is hot, slowly drop in the sliced potatoes which is dipped in flour.
- Fry the sliced potatoes well in the hot oil and flip it well on both the sides. Fry the potatoes well in the hot oil till they turn brown in colour.
- When done, drop the potato bajjis onto a plate which has a bloating paper on it. It will absorb the extra oil.
Your potato bajjis is now ready to eat. You can enjoy this evening snack along with tomato sauce or chilli sauce.
