Canned Tuna Fish Cutlets
Cutlets are generally one of the favourite snacks in every household. People of all ages relish this snack with great pleasure. This recipe involves the use of canned tuna fish in preparation of the cutlets. Canned tuna is not only rich in proteins but is also fat free. So, you definitely do not have to worry about calories while eating these cutlets.

These fish cutlets are very easy to prepare. We have also added a bit of Indian twist to this delicious fish recipe which makes it even more irresistible. These canned tuna fish cutlets makes a perfect appetizer for your evening. So, try them out and give your family and friends a delightful treat with these tuna fish cutlets.

Ingredients
- Tuna fish- 2 small tins
- Onions- 2 large (finely chopped)
- Green chillies- 5 (finely chopped)
- Curry leaves- 3 sprigs (finely chopped)
- Ginger- 2tbsp (finely chopped)
- Garlic- 1tsp (finely chopped)
- Chilli powder- ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Pepper powder- ½ tsp
- Garam masala- ½ tsp
- Oil- 2tbsp (for saute)
- Eggs- 1-2 (well-beaten)
- Potato- 1 (small, boiled and mashed)
- Bread crumbs for coating
- Oil for deep frying
For Garam masala
- Cloves- 2tbsp
- Cardamom- 2tbsp
- Aniseed- 2tbsp
- Cinnamon- 3 small sticks
Method
- Dry roast all garam masala ingredients for 2 minutes. Let it cool. Once done, grind it in a mixer into fine powder.
- Wash and clean the tuna fish properly. Drain all the water. Keep the mince aside.
- Pour 2 tablespoon of oil in a pan and saute ginger, garlic, green chillies and curry leaves on a low flame for about a minute.
- Now add the onions and saute until it turns transparent.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, pepper and garam masala. Cook for 3 minutes.
- Now add salt and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the fish mince and cook well. Make sure that there is no water in the mixture.
- Once done, remove it from the flame and let it cool.
- Now mix the mashed potatoes with the prepared tuna mixture and mix it well with your hands.
- Make patties of oval or round shape.
- Now dip these prepared patties in beaten egg and coat with bread crumbs.
- Now heat oil in a pan and deep fry these patties.
- These patties can also be prepared and frozen. You can deep fry them according to your need and convenience.
- Serve these cutlets hot with onion salad and mint/tamarind chutney.
