Green Chilli Chicken
Green chilli chicken is a spy chicken recipe that will make you salivate; due to its sharp taste and strong spicy flavour. This Indian microwave recipe is actually quite healthy because it makes use only of fresh green chillies as opposed to dry red chilli which is standard for Indian chicken curries. Among green chilli recipes which are a rarity in Indian cuisine, Green chilli chicken is a very popular one.

This Indian microwave recipe is a good one to try if you have cough and cold. Being a spicy chicken recipe it will bring out all the accumulated phlegm due to its strong spices. Your cooking time and efforts are substantially reduced as this is a an Indian microwave recipe and makes use of very basic ingredients.

Ingredients For Green Chilli Chicken:

1. Chicken 500 grams (cut into medium sized pieces)
2. Tomatoes 2 (paste)
3. Onions 2 (chopped finely)
4. Ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon
5. Green chilies 10
6. Pepper corns 8
7. Cloves 5
8. Cinnamon sticks 2
9. Cardamom 4
10. Cumin seeds 1 tablespoon
11. Cumin powder 1 tablespoon
12. Coriander powder 1 tablespoon
13. Coriander leaves 8-10 strands
14. Fenugreek seeds (methi) 1 teaspoon
15. Oil 2 tablespoon
16. Salt as per taste

Procedure:

  • Marinate the chicken with crushed tomato slush, cumin powder, coriander powder and salt for over an hour.
  • Grind the green chillies, coriander leaves, pepper corns, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom and fenugreek seeds together.
  • Now heat oil in a microwavable pan for 2 minutes on full power. Add the cumin seeds and chopped onions to it; cook for 4-5 minutes on 80 percent power.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and mix it well. Cook for 2-3 minutes on 80 percent power.
  • Pour the marinated chicken into the pan with the marinade and stir to mix. Cook it for 5 minutes on 80 percent power.
  • Mix the contents of the pan with the paste of green chillies and other spices you made. Cook for 3-4 minutes on 80 percent power.
  • Add 1 cup of water; cover and cook for 8 minutes on 80 percent power.

You can garnish green chilli chicken with fresh cream and serve it hot with roties.
