The Silk sarees are known around the world for their beauty and elegance. Silk sarees are the traditional garments of Indian women of all ages. Whether living in India or abroad, Indian women and women from other cultures adorn themselves with the most beautiful silk sarees they can find.
Buying and Wearing of Silk Sarees
One should wear silk sarees according to their physical structure. Fatter women should buy Chiffon or Georgette sarees. By wearing heavy Mysore silk sarees, fatter women may look slimmer and beautiful.
Do not buy big border silk sarees if you are shorter in height as big borders make one look shorter. Women with Shorter height should buy sarees with small borders or no borders.
Thin women can prefer Organza, Tissue and Tussar sarees. While buying printed sarees care should be taken to buy small and delicate printed sarees.
Women who have dark skin color should buy dark colours like green, maroon and dark pink.
Pin up your saree while in office. For a function or an outing just pinup tip of the saree and let the rest fall on your hand. Pressing is important in cotton, starched or tissue saree. Draping of the saree should carefully done. To avoid showing of the pin put it on the back shoulder.
Caring your silk sarees
Utmost care should be taken to preserve the luster and freshness of the sarees in the long run. Following are the tips to keep your saree elegant, glamour and long lasting.
Avoid washing the saree with the soap for the first wash. Instead soak it in salt water and give a cold water rinse. Use mild detergent in subsequent washes.
Brushing or lashing the saree will tear the zari, so wash gently. Avoid keeping wet for the long time and do not bundle the saree.
Iron should be medium heated while pressing. Cold dry place is the best place to store your sarees. Always keep these silk sarees in muslin to keep them away from insects
