Ingredients:
1. Pressure cook toor dal with pinch of turmeric and a few drops of oil.
2. In a vessel, add a glass of water, chopped tomatoes, rasam powder, salt, tamarind juice, curry leaves, coriander leaves, jaggery and wait until the mixture boils well.
3. Add the cooked toor dal, stir well (If you want the rasam to be more watery, you can add some more water) and your tasty tomato rasam is ready.
4. Season rasam with fried mustard seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida.
Enjoy the hot rasam with plain boiled rice and ghee.

- 2 tsps rasam powder (chili powder, cardamom powder, coriander powder, gram dal and urad dal powder)
- ' cup curry leaves
- A piece of jaggery

- 1 cup toor dal
- 1 tsp of oil
- Pinch of asafoetida
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 3-4 tsps of tamarind juice
