The Right Moment-Osho
It was a common sight to find the Sufi mystic Rabia shouting out the truth that she had attained, in the market place. It was regular sight to find Hassan, a seeker sitting at the door of the mosque praying and pleading to God to let him in.
One day when, Rabia went about shouting, she spotted Hassan crying very bitterly. Rabia who always walked past laughing at him could not contain herself that day. She walked up to him and said “Now stop all this and just understand that the door is open and you are in!"
Hassan looked at Rabia and at that moment he attained enlightenment. He then asked the mystic, “You have always seen me here everyday pleading with God. Why did you not come to my aid before?"
Rabia replied, “The right moment had not come then. Had I come then, you would have not really considered my words. You would have even turned antagonistic for disturbing you while praying. It is not good to interfere when someone is praying. Even a king does not have the right to intervene in a beggar's prayer"
She continued, “This is the right moment and the truth is now revealed to you!"
Osho hence asks one to drop the sense of doership which we all cherish to realise the truth of ourselves. A single step is suffice to know our self; it is just being.
