Lets face it, men are bad liars and they get caught pretty easily. As men are not instinctively inclined to lie it becomes interesting to find out what are the things that men lie about and why they do so? Men keep secrets for a variety of reasons like ego, fear, love but what compels then to tell lies? Any kind of marriage has lies that are patently told on both sides. The men's side of things remains unexplored.

Of course not. I think you have reduced. Poor guy what is he supposed to do? The last time he said 'Yes but I don't mind it' you almost walked out on him. Men too learn to say the right things with experience (after loads of experience actually).

2. Which of these two dresses should I wear tonight?
If he is smart he will probably say 'you look good in anything at all!' It roughly translates to both are equally bad so it doesn't matter which one you wear. If he criticizes your fashion sense you can't take it so men too keep secrets and learn to live with minor differences in opinion.

3. Did you enjoy dinner with my parents?
'It was wonderful' is what you will hear. Mentally read, 'I was bored too death and I hope we don't do this any time soon'. Men usually get along fine with their in laws while women don't manage so well. It is because they make up their mind from the beginning to get not too involved. A marriage lie that always works.

4. Should we get married now?
If he loves you enough then he will say 'yes' or lets discuss it. But the inner voice in him shouts, 'Oh no! Its happened'. It is the natural reaction of a man to all the changes that a marriage is going to bring about in his life. Don't judge men if the hide fear because we all do.

5. Doesn't my friend look gorgeous?
'Yes but never more than you'. Well you like to hear that but inherently know its a lie. Even if your friend were Miss Universe, he would not dare say she looks better than you. Men have to make a secret of their opinion in such delicate cases.

6. Do you like to go out with my friends?
Love it, they are like my friends now. Another lie men are forced to tell. He probably finds your girl gang silly, giggly, badly dressed and is particularly irritated by the fact that they don't pay up when the bill arrives. So much for chivalry!
