Friendship Day Dedication From A Reader
After ‘Family', it's only ‘Friends' who understand you better. You may see a very good friend in your mom, dad, brother or sister, but when it comes to sharing, it's none other than FRIENDS. You do not think twice before sharing anything with your friends. William Shakespeare said, "A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow," which is really true.
We meet many friends in our lives, and I am very lucky that in every mode of my life. I met most precious and golden friends during my golden days - School days. It is said that school friends are friends for ever and it is very true.

This is a small dedication to my special friend Shilpa Sukumaran on Friendship Day.
Shilpa, my school friend who is funny, crazy, naughty and yet very reserved, sensitive and short tempered. Ours is journey of sharing, caring, fighting and crying together. I would like to share few incidents which make us laugh out loud, and I am sure it will remind you of your childhood days and friends.
The most memorable moments were the competition to score marks. Shilpa always had a feeling that I am competing with her for marks. If she scored better than me, she always said, "I scored more than you ..." Though I felt jealous, I just ignored it every time.
We happened to attend one function and during serious conversation between me and Shilpa, a seat next to her got vacated and she all of a sudden shifted to the vacated chair. I was totally amused as there was no reason to shift but didn't question and I too moved to the chair in which she was seated earlier. Only then I realised that a prank was played on me. The chair to which I moved was in a dilapidated condition. She gave a ridiculous smile and I realised the trick. I scolded her and asked, "How could you put me at risk in this way? What if I fall?" To that she replied, "If I fall, you can't sustain my weight and rescue me, but if you fall, I can hold your weight and save you." And then together we started laughing.
But, with every passing year our association has matured emotionally and mentally.
As the saying goes, "A loyal friend laughs at your jokes when they're not so good, and sympathizes with your problems when they're not so bad."
Though this is a small Friendship Day dedication to my special friend, Shilpa. I also want to thank all my friends (can't name them all as the list is never ending) and say, "You all mean a lot to me and my life is wonderful and filled just because of you all... Happy Friendship Day - Love you all."
