Ways To Cure Abdominal Itchiness In Pregnancy
Abdominal itchiness is one of the common symptoms in pregnancy. This condition starts around the 23rd week of pregnancy. It normally occurs due to the expansion of the pelvic region.
However, one of the common reasons that gives rise to itchiness can include increase in the level of oestrogen hormone that often leads to an itching sensation on the belly and other parts of the body.
When the skin starts expanding, it gets dry and moisture deprived. This causes itchiness. This itchiness tends to go away after the child birth. However, it can create an uneasy feeling for a pregnant woman who'd want a cure for it.
There are some of the easy and effective ways to combat this dryness and itchiness during pregnancy. By following these tips, you can get relief from the uneasiness caused by itching.
Therefore, in this article, we at Boldsky will be listing out some of the ways to combat and cure abdominal itchiness during pregnancy. Read on to know more about it.

Never Scratch: Always make sure that you don't scratch your belly, no matter how much you may get tempted to. It can make things worse for you. One tip to ease the temptation to scratch the belly would be to scratch on a pillow or soft toy instead.
Never Forget To Moisturise: Dryness is the main reason for itchiness. It can make the normal skin itchy during pregnancy due to the expansion of the skin tissues. Hence, always make it a point to moisturise your skin with a gentle fragrance-free moisturiser.

Use An Anti-Itch Cream: An anti-itch cream comes to the rescue when there is itchiness on the skin. Using it helps to get rid of the itchiness and skin irritation. Also, always keep yourself hydrated enough by consuming a lot of water.
Avoid Hot Showers: Taking extremely hot showers can make the skin rough and dry. It takes away the moisture and this paves a way for dry skin that in turn causes the itchiness. Therefore, it is best to take shower in lukewarm water.

Wear Dry Loose Fitting Clothes: Wearing clean and dry clothes can keep several skin conditions at bay. As clothes rub against the skin, they may add on to the dryness and itchiness. So, always ensure to wear light, dry and loose fitting clothes during pregnancy.
