10 Body Changes During Pregnancy
You and your baby are working at top speed when you find out that you are pregnant. There are so many emotional & body changes during pregnancy that you will experience for the first time in your life. But sure, you will enjoy it!
Pregnancy demands your body to be perfect to support the growth and development of a baby. One wonders how a woman's body changes during pregnancy? According to the progress of your child, almost every part of your body is also going through a change. Apart from the changes of our uterus, there are lot more organs taking part in the process. This includes your reproductive, circulatory, respiratory, excretory and immune systems. All the organs should work in harmony to get through the whole nine special months.
Your internal organs will also undergo many related changes. The following are a few of the body changes during pregnancy which women should be prepared for.
Body Aches
Especially on the lower back, when the uterus size increases. The pain may move to the leg, knee and the foot as you move into the pregnancy. General body pain will resolve by itself by enough rest.
Breast Changes
Physical body changes during pregnancy includes changes in the breasts. The changes in hormones are the main reason for this. The changes on the breast will depend on each trimester of the pregnancy.
Bowel Movements
Constipation is one of the main complaints for most of the pregnancy women. The increased level of hormones will slow down digestion and it is considered as one of the difficult pregnancy changes in body.
Circulatory System
Your heart has to work more efficiently during pregnancy to make sure that the little life inside is getting enough nutrients. Also, blood flow is important to oxygen supply to the baby.This body changes is seen during pregnancy & week by week.
Metabolism
During the first and the last trimester of the pregnancy, women are very tired. Fatigue and sleep problems are very common. Pregnancy will increase the metabolism of the body.
Heart Burn
With the hormone and body changes during pregnancy, the valve that separates the stomach and the esophagus will be affected. This will cause the food to come back from the stomach, causing heartburn during the entire pregnancy.
Hemorrhoids
There is also a condition where there are swollen and bulging veins in the rectum. There will be itching, pain and bleeding. One of the main reasons for this is the increase in blood volume during pregnancy.
Nasal Problems
Nosebleeds and stuffiness are among different body changes during pregnancy. The hormones will act on the tissues of the nose and there is nothing to worry in these conditions.
Skin Changes
When the body is stretched for such a long period of time, stretch marks are a very common. There are also dark patches around the cheeks, forehead and the nose. Most of these marks will vanish after the pregnancy, but the stretch marks may remain.
Urinary System
There will be an increase in the frequency of your toilet visit, especially in the third trimester. This occurs as the baby pushes the bladder, urethra and pelvic floor muscles. This will result in frequent urination. This will increase during the later stages of the pregnancy.
