Causes Of Hard Belly During Pregnancy

However, most pregnant women hesitate to call their as they think frequent calling may seem bothersome and foolish.

Your Baby Has Stopped Moving
When you are less than 28 weeks pregnant, your baby's movements are irregular and you may only notice it when you are at rest. But at around 28 weeks, babies are active and have frequent movement. At that point, you should be aware of your baby's movements. If there is less movement, you must call your doctor.
You Are Having Regular Contractions
There are occasional contractions during pregnancy especially when you are approaching towards your due date. These contractions can cause pain too but are not regular. Contractions more than six times in an hour is a warning sign and can be a preterm labour. Call your doctor who can tell you what is to be done at home and when to get admitted to the hospital.
You Are Bleeding Enough To Soak A Pad
Bleeding during pregnancy is not always a serious issue. However, a heavy bleeding similar to menstrual bleeding is a matter of concern. If you are bleeding profusely or if your placenta is at an abnormal place such as in case of placenta previa, then you should call your doctor. Otherwise, there will be danger to both the mother and the baby.
Your Blood Sugar Is Too High Or Too Low
If you have diabetes during pregnancy called as gestational diabetes, then you must have always a check on your blood sugar levels. Diabetes during pregnancy can prove fatal for both mother and the baby. Both rise and fall in blood sugar is dangerous and you must call your doctor in both the cases.
Sharp Abdominal Pain
A little abdominal pain during pregnancy is normal as you may be suffering from constipation, round ligament pain, minor contractions. These conditions can also cause abdominal pain. However, a sharp and intense pain should not be ignored as it can be a sign of uterine rupture. This is a medical emergency and poses risk to both the mother's and the baby's life. You must call your doctor if you have a sudden and sharp abdominal pain.
You Get A Gush Of Fluid
If your amniotic fluid or water breaks prior to your expected time, then there may be risk to you and your baby. The baby will not grow properly and chances are that there will be a preterm birth or even death. The mother can get a serious infection too. If there is a gush of clear fluid coming from your vagina, you should contact your doctor.
