Signs Of Water Break During Pregnancy
A water break during the final trimester of pregnancy can tense a woman and make her run for help. Water break is very normal in the third trimester. The amniotic sac breaks and signals that the baby is ready to be born. Well, this pre-labour sign means that the woman is now ready to deliver a child. While few women notice a slow leakage of amniotic fluid, there are many woman who suffer complete rapture. For few others, the water gushes out and can be dangerous too. So, you must be prepared to face the water breakage during pregnancy.
Doctors can help predict the date however, it is not always accurate. Many women can labour before date too! When the water breaks during pregnancy, a woman can feel buckets of water flowing down between her legs. But, how would you know that your water has broken? Here are few signs that will help you know that your water has broken.
Signs of water break during pregnancy:

Be prepared: If you think that your water is about to break, then just relax. Observe the colour, appearance of the fluid. Also keep a note of the timings. This is because you can deliver anytime after the water breaks.
Observe: If you feel a pop sound down there and some fluid starts coming out slowly, it is a sign that your water has broken. Observe even then. If you see a soft cord (umbilical cord) coming out from the vagina with the gush, immediately rush to the hospital.
The white fluid: When the water breaks, a white and odourless fluid gushes out. If the fluid is yellow in colour and smells of ammonia or rotten eggs, it is urine.
Labour contractions: In few cases, labour contractions can start few hours before the water breaks. If you feel some contractions, be prepared.
Call the doctor: If the fluid looks green or brown in colour, immediately call your doctor. This can mean that the baby had a bowel movement in the uterus.
Pack your hospital bag: If you have packed your hospital bag before the labour, it is good. Otherwise, immediately when you feel the signs of water break, pack your hospital bag and observe.
These are few signs of water break during pregnancy. Do not panic as it can prove to be harmful for both you and the baby. Relax and take help of your partner. Once it bursts, the doctor will analyse the fluid and confirm whether it is amniotic fluid or white discharge.
