If you have been trying to conceive and these myths have been stopping you. It is time to pause and rethink about these myths being totally untrue! There are some women who have been bombarded with these conceive myths which have made them mind paralyse in getting pregnant.
For those women who are planning on a family, have you ever been told that if you conceive during a full moon you will have a boy! Or if you conceive during the solar eclipse there are chances of you not getting pregnant? These myths have blocked the minds of young women who have been trying to conceive for years.

It is time that we step up and put these myths to rest. These conceiving myths about pregnancy have been debunked.
Lets take a look at some of the conception myths
- One of the common conception myths is that when you lie on your back 20 minutes after intercourse, it will increase the chance of you getting pregnant. This is however, not true as conceiving does not depend on this method.
- This is one of the strangest myths one would ever come across. It is believed that if your partner wears briefs it will reduce the sperm count.
- Another common conception myth is that of lubricants. It is believed that one uses lubricants it will help to make the semen swim faster. With the help of lubricants, the sperm swims faster to the Fallopian tubes and gets to the egg which is waiting.
- A woman needs to have an orgasm in order to get pregnant! Have you heard of this conception myth? It is believed that the uterine contractions which is caused by the sperm helps the sperm to float easily towards the fallopian tubes. This is turn helps you to conceive, which is not true in any case.
- For many young girls who have recently wed, their in laws pester them to start their family planning. Do you know the reason behind this? It is believed that a woman reproduces better in her 20s. If you wait too long to have a baby, you will have a lot of problems trying to conceive. This myth has been debunked because there is no exact threshold after which conceiving is less likely.
- There are couples who are eager to have a baby girl or a baby boy. There is a common conception myth which says one can control your baby's gender. However, according to medical trials, experts are unable to prove that timing intercourse relative to ovulation can increase the chances of conceiving a girl or a baby boy.
- The intercourse positions is important to conceive. It is believed and still followed by couples who want to start a family. The conception myth which lies here is that if the woman is on top, she will not get pregnant. But, the truth is that no matter what position you are in, you can get pregnant.
- If you are on the pill it needs to be stopped! Have you heard of this conception myth?If you have been following this myth you would have spent most of your life trying to get pregnant.
- This is one of the best conception myths recorded. It is said that cough syrup helps in getting pregnant! The myth - Cough syrups contains an ingredient known as guaifenesin which is responsible to thin the mucus in your lungs. But, it can also thin the mucus in your body such as cervical mucus, therefore making it easier for the sperm to reach the egg.
- Do not exercise! There are some women who refrain from exercising as it affects for one to conceive.
