Pregnancy stress is one thing which cannot be avoided. Pregnancy in itself is a stressor. It is the result of hormonal changes, bodily changes and also affects the emotions greatly. It is safe till the time it is under control. Studies have proved that pregnancy stress can bring about additional hormonal changes which affects the growth of the baby and may bring about premature delivery, low birth weight and in worse conditions may cause risk to the health of both the child and mother. Some habits which increases the risk are smoking, alcohol and also excess work pressure. These habits can also cause miscarriage.

Here are some ways to treat pregnancy stress -

1.Exercise – Exercise during pregnancy is advised under supervision by doctors. Exercise helps make your muscles stronger and thus, reduce the feeling of weight and assure safe delivery. 3.Diet – Diet plays the most important role in healthy pregnancy. Food rich in starch like potatoes, rice and chapaties; dairy product like cheese, butter, yogurt; poultry products like meat, fish and eggs should be a part of your daily diet. This gives enough nutrient for both the mother and child.

4.Pamper Yourself – Pamper yourself with beauty treatment, spas and favourite delights. This helps you relax mentally. The feel good factors works wonders on stress.
