Why do you need Father To Be Tips?
Its quite self explanatory actually. Here are a few father to be tips that will help fathers enjoy pregnancy of their wives and help them appropriately.
- The father is physically disconnected with the pregnancy. The pregnancy for dads is an external affair. The baby is not physically connected to their body. They cannot feel the that tiny life breathe inside them like the mother. This puts them at a disadvantage. They cannot anticipate the need of the baby. That calls for some basic prenatal care guidelines.
- Dads are equally responsible for the baby. The baby may not be inside you but doesn't reduce your responsibility. In fact it increases it. You have to find out every thing possible about pregnancy; facts, details, health care needs etc. If you are a well informed dad to be then the chances of your baby being delivered without complications are better. Even if there are complications you will know how to handle them.
- Mothers to be are in a fragile state. The mental and physical health of the pregnant woman is in a turbulent state. She will be prone to mood swings and depression as her hormones surge. You will have to handle her emotional outburst or health scares very patiently. If you have some idea about prenatal care guidelines then your job becomes easier.
- You will have to take change of the situation by planning check up schedules with the doctor, making a chart for her prenatal vitamins etc with confidence. Since her health is not sound your responsibility is doubled. Be the support she needs psychologically. Encourage her to confide in you and make her feel cherished. You cannot deliver the baby for her or share the discomforts of bearing a child for 9 months. But you can be there for her.
- Pregnancy for fathers is an emotional experience: You are already emotionally attached to the baby even as it grows in the mothers womb. It is journey that they take along with the mother but get little credit for it.
- Apply for your Father's maternity leave in advance: Yes you will be needed to take care of your wife and child before and after the delivery. Try to stay at home 3-4 days prior to her due date to make things more streamlined.
If you follow these simple tips you will enjoy the pregnancy as dad.
