How To Teach Table Manners To Kids
If children are not taught about table manners, they will start eating clumsily poring liquids all over the place and solids on the table. The mere sight may be repulsive and your kids might get disorganised. Also, in social situations, they will embarrass you. If you spend some time and pay attention, teaching table manners for kids is not so difficult.
Also, remember the fact that good table manners can help your kids come across as polite and mature people after they grow up. They will be respected and not hated anywhere. In fact, you must ensure that table manners for kids becomes a part of their upbringing. Only then, they will ensure that they eat well.
Ways to teach table manners for kids

In the starting stages...
It is tough to teach table manners for toddlers. If the age of your kid is below 2 years, you can simply sit at the table for a few minutes as if to give your kid a clue about what you do while eating food. Ensure that you take your kid to the dining table for every meal. Also, teach your kid about using a napkin to wipe his face.

Forks and spoons
At the age of 2 years, kids can also learn about using a spoon to eat food. You just need to be patient enough to teach about forks, spoons and napkins too.
Clean eating
Once your kid is around 4 years, you will observe him or her eating food without much help. This is the time when kids learn how to eat without throwing the food everywhere on the table.

Closed mouth
Teach your kid how to close mouth while chewing. A closed mouth can hide the ugly sight of food being chewed by teeth. This is an aspect of proper table manners.
Laughing loudly
Most of the kids must be taught that talking or laughing while eating is not a good habit. Gradually, your kid will learn to eat silently.

Using cutlery
If using a spoon or a fork gets difficult, you can encourage your kid to find his own comfort zone while eating.
Drinking habits
When it comes to drinking beverages, you can teach your children how to drink without smearing the contents around the mouth. When it comes to wiping the mouth, remind your kid that a napkin must be used instead of clothes that are worn.
Other aspects
Apart from all these things, you can also teach other things like cleaning the table after the meal and giving compliments to the person who cooked the meal. This helps your kid do well in social situations. This is how proper table manners can be taught to your children.
