How to help kids work in kitchen safely?
"When I was in primary school I remember my dad closing the kitchen door whenever he cooked chicken for the dinner. He was scared that I would climb on the chair to see the boiling chicken or end up cutting my little finger instead of carrots or just pull dad's t-shirt to spill all the hard work on the floor."

The kitchen is a fascinating place or rather a magical paradise for young children. They just want to be a part of the magic. Preschoolers
It's quite a hard task to tell them 'Heh!! listen keep your hands away", because they would not heed your words if the utensil or food attracts them. So, keep their hands busy. Ask them to arrange the plates or get fruit or vegetables from the basket. You can even ask them to wash fruits or vegetables. If thy approach any hot stuff tell them you will get hurt. Praise them for every little task and gift them with a candy or a fruit that they love.

Remember kitchen in addition to being fun is also one of the most valuable classrooms in your house. Colors shapes and numbers are helping your child each step to be a grown up kid with the right basics and intellect.

School-age kids

Establish kitchen rules, such as washing hands and not touching stove knobs or knives.

After the work is done, present the cooked dish on the table with a proud note 'Prepared by my darling baby'. Any recipes with not more than five ingredients can be cooked completely by these kids. For instance a tossed salad or easy muffin recipe can be good starter projects.

Teens
Teens can opt for much challenging jobs. However keep a watch on them and make sure to be beside them all the time. You can help them try new cuisines. If they love Asian food then visit an Asian market and put together something authentic. You can even ask them to discover new recipes themselves or get some new ones from the website. Teens can try these recipes from our soups, snacks and drink section. However make sure to have an elderly person beside while trying it for the first time.
