Foods That Are Best For Your Baby Before Age One
As you see your little one grow day by day, you tend to be more careful about the foods that you choose for your baby. The first year is a crucial one, when it comes to following a healthy diet for your baby.
As your child is learning to eat solid foods, he/she tends to be more active. One should remember that variety is the spice of life, so you need to know more about the various foods that are good for your little one, especially in his/her first year.
A good nutrition gives your child what actually his/her body requires for growth and health. It also gives them energy to play, or move around and learn and grasp things easily.
So, check the list of best foods that you should give to your baby in his/her first year. These nutritional foods are really important, as they expose babies to the taste of different varieties of food.
Berries
This is one of the important foods that you should feed to your baby, as it is colourful and the child will relish its tangy taste. Serve some small or chopped berries as finger foods, or make a puree and add it on to a toast.
Salmon
Omega-3 fatty acid that is essential for the cognitive development of a baby is the best available element that is found in a salmon. Mash some cooked or flaked fish into a puree and feed your baby with this nutritious food at least once in a week.
Onions and Garlic
To raise an adventurous eater, one should feed their baby with some flavour-boosters like onions and garlic. It's a good choice of foods that you must feed your baby before age one.
Leafy Greens
Let your baby get an earthy taste of spinach, kale, and chard. This is one of the best foods for a child who has just started eating solid food.
Whole Grains
This food has more fibre and has many flavours associated with it. Try some cereals made from oats, quinoa, brown rice or other whole grains to expose your child to a variety of food.
Eggs
Just blend a scrambled egg with some vegetable puree and feed your little one with this nutritious food.
Peanuts
You need to be more careful with this food, as few kids may have an allergic reaction to peanuts. So, start with a little peanut butter on toast as a finger food or stir a bit into a puree.
