Anne Hathaway Is Pregnant at 43, Expecting Third Child With Adam Shulman
Anne Hathaway has announced she is pregnant with her third child. The Oscar-winning actress, 43, shared the news on Instagram on Friday, June 19, 2026, posting a video in which she walks into the frame in a flowing white dress, hands resting on her midsection, before smiling and revealing her baby bump. The clip was set to Barbara Lewis's 1965 song "Baby, I'm Yours," and Hathaway captioned the post with a line referencing the same song.
A representative for Hathaway confirmed the pregnancy to several outlets following the post. Days later, she was also photographed showing off her bump while on a getaway in Saint-Tropez with her husband and a group of friends.
A Growing Family
Hathaway and her husband, producer and jewellery designer Adam Shulman, married in 2012 and are already parents to two sons: Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. The couple has been notably private about their children, largely keeping them out of the public eye.
This will be Hathaway's third pregnancy, and, as with her previous two announcements, she has been candid about how difficult the road to motherhood has been. When she revealed she was expecting Jack in 2019, she used the moment to acknowledge that conception had not come easily for her either time, offering support to others facing infertility. She has touched on similar struggles in subsequent interviews, describing the lead-up to her pregnancies as isolating and full of self-doubt.
A Packed 2026 for Hathaway
The pregnancy news arrives during one of the busiest stretches of Hathaway's career. This year alone has already seen the release of "Mother Mary" and the much-anticipated "The Devil Wears Prada 2." She has more high-profile work on the way, including "The Odyssey," due out in July, and "The End of Oak Street," opposite Ewan McGregor, scheduled for an August release. Additional upcoming projects reportedly include an adaptation of the novel "Yesteryear" and "The Princess Diaries 3."
In an interview last month, Hathaway spoke about feeling settled in both her family life and career, saying she and Shulman were enjoying time with their children while she continued to find fulfilment in her work.
The Reveal, Her Way
Notably, Hathaway broke the news herself, directly to fans on social media, rather than through a traditional press cycle. It's a pattern that has become increasingly common among A-list stars in recent years, who often prefer to control the narrative around major personal milestones rather than leave it to outlets or paparazzi. Fan and media reaction to the announcement has been overwhelmingly warm, with many congratulating the actress on the next chapter of her family's story.
